THE SERIES
This is the fifth meeting between the two schools. South Alabama leads the series 4-0. The Jags defeated William Carey 80-67 last season at the Mitchell Center.

NOTES
- The Jags are averaging 91 points per game in the four games against William Carey dating back to 2003.
 
- South Alabama is ranked 22nd in the NCAA in scoring defense, giving up just 55.8 points per game and have held two teams below 50 points through four games.
 
- USA has forced 20 or more turnovers in back-to-back games and only committed two turnovers Saturday against Mobile.

- Marshall Kearing posted his first career double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds vs. Mobile. The 16 rebounds were the most by a Jaguar since Augustine Rubit pulled down 19 rebounds on Dec. 16, 2012.
 
- Charles Manning Jr. added a career-high five assists in a 78-45 win over Mobile on Saturday.
 
- Jay Jay Chandler led South with 15 points Saturday vs. Mobile. Chandler has led the team in scoring in both wins this season.
 
- South is currently in the top 3 in the Sun Belt in rebounds per game (45.2), offensive rebounds per game (15.2), three-point field-goal defense (.239), total field-goal percentage defense (.361), free throw attempts (81) and turnover margin (7.2).
 
- South held No. 14 Alabama to its lowest point total of the season with 73 points, including a season-low 31 points in the first half.
 
- The Jags forced the Crimson Tide to turn it over a season-high 22 times, including 14 in the first half. Alabama had been averaging 11 turnovers per game before the contest.
 
- The 22 turnovers forced were a season-high for South Alabama.
 
- USA held Alabama to season lows in points (73), field goal percentage (.443), three-point percentage (.259) and made three-pointers (7).
 
- USA has three players — Manning Jr. (14.5), Chandler (12.5) and Javon Franklin (10.8) — averaging double-digits in scoring this year.
 
- The Jaguars are among the lowest percentage of minutes returning in the country for the 2021-22 season. USA brings back just 28.6 percent of minutes played from last season, which ranks as the eighth fewest in the NCAA. Only UT-Martin, Creighton, Missouri, Duquesne, Iowa State, Robert Morris and Boston College return fewer. Newcomers have accounted for 83.3 percent of the scoring in South Alabama's first four games. Eight of the top nine scorers for the Jags are newcomers.
 
- Franklin followed up his first career double-double with a second straight at Alabama, posting 11 points and 11 rebounds. Franklin leads the Sun Belt with two double-doubles in three outings this season.  The last Jaguar to post two straight double-doubles was Josh Ajayi (1/6-1/9/20).
 
- Manning Jr. posted career-highs with 23 points and six rebounds at Alabama.
 
- Kayo Goncalves ranks second in the Sun Belt with 10 made three-pointers in the first four games of this season.
 
- USA held Spring Hill to 0-for-15 shooting from three in the season opener. The Badgers were the first opponent to not make a three-pointer against the Jags since Louisiana went 0-for-6 on Jan. 3, 2002. The 15 attempted three-pointers without a make is the most for a South Alabama opponent dating back to 1990.
