Opening Kick
• This is the last of a four-game homestand for the Jaguars, the program's longest since playing the first five contests of the 2010 season — a stretch going from Sept. 4-Oct. 9 — in Mobile.
• ULM is the second straight opponent from the Sun Belt Conference West Division for USA.
• South is looking to start 2-0 in Sun Belt action for the first time since officially beginning play in the league in 2012.
• The Jaguars last won back-to-back conference games on Oct. 11 and 21, 2017, with defeats of Troy and the Warhawks.
• The Jags are also aiming to move above .500 for the first occasion since standing 3-2 following a 42-24 victory over No. 19 San Diego State on Oct. 1, 2016.

South Alabama-ULM Series Notes
• ULM's victories the last two years were the first back-to-back for either team in the series.
• Only one contest — a 42-35 overtime Warhawks victory in Monroe on Nov. 5, 2016 — has been decided by a single-digit margin.
• The winning team has averaged 36.2 points per game, never scoring fewer than 30.
• South last defeated ULM, 33-23, at home on Oct. 21, 2017.
• The Warhawks' win in the last meeting in Mobile, a 38-10 decision on Nov. 10, 2018, marked the first time in program history that the Jags fell on Homecoming weekend.

Notes From The Last ULM Meeting
• The Jaguars' 35:35 time-of-possession figure was their highest of the season.
• The 12 penalties for 108 yards committed by ULM were both the most by an opponent last fall.
• USA's rushing total was its highest against a Sun Belt opponent last year until gaining 351 yards on the ground against Louisiana Nov. 16.
• It was the second of three straight games that Nick Mobley led the Jags in tackles.
• Hadon Merchant was one of two members of the Jaguar offensive line to post a double-digit knockdown total, finishing with career-best 12.

Notes On Campbell's Coaching/Playing Career
• Campbell's 166-74 mark as a head coach includes going 33-15 over four years at Central Arkansas from 2014-17, where he guided the Bears to back-to-back NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoff appearances before taking over at South Alabama.
• He has led two programs to national championships — Delta (Miss.) State in 2000 at the NCAA Division II level and Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. to the 2007 National Junior College Athletic Association crown.
• In 20 seasons no team coached by Campbell finished below .500 prior to the 2018 campaign.
• Campbell has coached on the staffs of Pat Dye (Auburn graduate assistant, 1988-89) and Jackie Sherrill (Mississippi State assistant, 2003).
• Campbell and Jaguar coordinators Kenny Edenfield and Greg Stewart were teammates on Troy's 1987 NCAA Division II national championship squad.

Senior Linebacker Earns Sun Belt Honors
Riley Cole led all players with a career-best 15 total tackles — the most recorded by a defender in the Sun Belt this year — in the Jaguars' win over Texas State, which included a season-high-tying 1½ behind the line of scrimmage.  Not only did the senior linebacker post an assisted stop for loss with the Bobcats facing fourth-and-two at the USA-37 and the score tied 17-17 late in the third quarter, he was credited with seven tackles in the final period as the Jaguars limited TXST to just three points while pulling ahead for the victory.  As a result, he was named the SBC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the first time in his career.

Continuing With Cole
In addition to marking the first occasion this fall that Cole has recorded a tackle for loss in consecutive outings, it was the most stops made by a Jag defender since Nigel Lawrence finished with 17 at Arkansas State on Nov. 3, 2018.  With the performance, he is just one of two players in the SBC entering the week averaging double-digit tackles per game.

A Kicker's Career Day
After hitting from 33, 24 and 44 yards out, Diego Guajardo became the first USA placekicker to convert three field goals in a game since Gavin Patterson accomplished the feat Sept. 30, 2017, at Louisiana Tech.  That was also the last time a Jaguar kicker scored 10 or more points in a contest until Guajardo finished with a career-best 12 against the Bobcats.  For his efforts, the sophomore was chosen one of three "Stars of the Week" by the Lou Groza Award.

A Historic Day For Davis
After finishing with 133 yards on a school-record 32 carries, Carlos Davis became the first Jaguar to run for 100-plus yards in back-to-back outings since Xavier Johnson turned the trick in wins over Idaho and Louisiana on Nov. 7 and 12, 2015.  With 665 yards on the ground since the start of the 2018 campaign, the sophomore has now entered the top 10 on South's all-time rushing list.

Tolbert Is Tops
WR Jalen Tolbert posted a career high with nine catches and game-best 91 yards receiving while becoming the seventh individual in program history to reach double figures in touchdown receptions after hauling in the 10th of his career in the win over the Bobcats.  The junior has now paced the Jaguars in receiving yards in five of the last six outings, with nine of those 10 scores coming during that span.

Baker Coming Up Big
Senior Kawaan Baker moved into a tie for fifth place on South's all-time receptions list — he now has 96 since the start of the 2017 season, tying him with former all-Sun Belt TE Wes Saxton — after finishing the Texas State game with five for 43 yards; that included recording the game-winning catch on an eight-yard pass from Desmond Trotter midway through the final period.  It was the fourth occasion in the last five games that the wide receiver has hauled in five or more balls after accomplishing the feat just once in his first 33 outings as a member of the program.

Defensive Backs Get It Done
The duo of Dewayne Betts Jr. and Ryan Melton each posted five solo stops to lead the Jaguar secondary in the defeat of the Bobcats, with the latter recording his first tackle for a loss since USA beat Jackson State on Sept. 7 a year ago.  It was a career-best tackle total for Betts Jr. — who had made two stops in his first four appearances of the season — while Melton matched his previous high first set in the Jags' game against UAB last month.  In addition, Keith Gallmon contributed four stops to go along with a career-best three passes broken up, the most recorded by a member of South's defense this year.

On The Mark
After missing the Jaguars' match-up against UAB, Trotter returned against the Bobcats and completed 18-of-22 passes for 187 yards and the game-winning touchdown; 75 of those yards came in the final 15 minutes to help break a 17-17 tie.  The sophomore's 81.8 completion percentage was the second-highest mark (minimum 10 attempts) in program history, and with a 159.54 pass efficiency rating he enters play among the top 10 quarterbacks in the country.
