THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
South Alabama's 24 goals in 2019 matches its total from all of 2018. The 24 goals last year were the program's fewest since 2009.

The Jags rank 11th in the nation in points per game (10.33), 10th in goals per game (3.00) and 19th in assists per game (2.50).

Briana Morris still leads the conference in both goals (8) and points (17) despite going without a point last weekend. She recorded three shots in the loss at Mississippi State.

Morris is ninth in Division I in goals per game (1.00) and 18th in points per game (2.13).

Morris has recorded two goals three times this season. She had zero multi-goal games  in her first three years.

Athanasia Moraitou and Gracie Wilson are tied for second in the conference in total assists (4).

Justice Stanford recorded her first shutout of the season and 25th of her career at Southeastern Louisiana. She currently ranks fifth in Sun Belt history in career clean sheets, five away from Danielle Wiley of Denver fourth.

Brenna McPartlan is 3 for 5 from the penalty spot in her career, including 2 for 3 this season. She accounted for the game-winning goal Sunday from the spot.

USA allowed 21 goals in 2018, but just five came during league play. The team was second in the conference in goals against average in Sun Belt games at 0.57.

Since a 4-0 start, Texas State is 0-3-1 in its last 4 games, with just two goals scored.

Last season, Texas State became the first Sun Belt school to earn points off South Alabama twice in the same season since Middle Tennessee in 2012. The Bobcats won the regular-season meeting 1-0 in Mobile and advanced on penalties in the Sun Belt Tournament after a 1-1 draw.

Texas State was picked first in the Sun Belt preseason poll, boasted the preseason offensive (Kaylee Davis) and defensive (Heather Martin) players of the year, and five members of the all-Sun Belt team.

The Jags are 6-1-2 all time in Lafayette, compared to just 3-3-4 in Mobile.

MOODIE'S QUOTES ON THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
On starting conference play: "I'm really happy with things right now. We had two really good performances last weekend. The result against Ole Miss is great but it was just an amazing performance. In the Mississippi State game, although we were unfortunate to not come out with a win there, I think we learned a lot – what we did well and what we did wrong as a coaching staff and a team. We're coming off a big win, but we understand we have to work even harder. It's not like now that we beat Ole Miss, we can beat anybody. It was a good result and performance; now we need to find a way to put all of the good things that we've done in the season and put together a complete 90-minute performance."

On the team coming out of last weekend: "We have got a group of warriors. We have girls that are fearless. Going to Mississippi State and Ole Miss is hard enough, but to do what they've done in those two games is phenomenal. The Texas State trip is a tough one for us in terms of the demands of it, so we've put them to the test the last couple of weeks and they've answered. Coach Sam (Thomsit) has done a great job with the travel and getting the girls prepared, and I don't give them enough credit. This will be our first flight of the season, plus it's a conference game, so it's the most demanding. "

On taking on Texas State: "They beat us twice last year, they're a great team and fully equipped with good players – Kaylee Davis obviously being the best – and they have some young players that are really good. They're the reigning champions and they're the ones under pressure. They're the champs and they have to defend it."
