Miscellaneous Notes
- McPartlan returns as the team's leader in goals, assists, points and game-winning goals (4); she ranked in the top 10 in the Sun Belt Conference in all three categories and was the 2018 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year
- McPartlan is the fifth Jaguar in the last six seasons to win that award
- Griss and Wilson started the exhibition at Alabama

Richard Moodie
- On starting two newcomers – one freshman, one graduate – vs. Alabama: "They did extremely well. They both have the ability to play offensively and defensively, they can rotate and they understand the game really well. In terms of the energy and quality they brought, they certainly helped us get better."
- On how he thought they played during the preseason: "I'm excited still even off the back of not winning a preseason game. We wanted to challenge them and throw them in the deep end but I feel better now going into this first game than we did before."
- On having McPartlan back: "She was the freshman of the year and she just wants to prove herself again. That's the biggest challenge in itself, just being better than you were the year before. She leads by example in how she plays. She's a 90-minute player that never wants to come out, and she's going to keep working from the first minute to the last. That also sets a good example. Maybe this year she'll play a bit higher; there are loads of options for her. She's done a good job in that holding center mid role and she creates so much for us going forward."

Brenna McPartlan
- On how she would evaluate her freshman season: "I learned a lot, both individually and within the team. It was hard adapting to different playing styles, new teammates and new coaches, but I think we did well. Obviously there's a lot to work on, but in preseason we've been looking good and sharp, and feeling positive about the season."
- On how preseason has been different as a sophomore: "It's been a lot tougher, mentally and physically. There's been a really high standard in training and the games we've been playing have been tough. All the girls worked hard over the summer and are ready for the season."
- On progress of newcomers: "We've got a few Europeans, which is good because it brings a different style of football, personalities and culture."
