Offensive Player of the Day: Jalen Tolbert, So., WR, Mobile, Ala.
-Offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield on Tolbert: "Jalen had a good day, we had a lot of deep balls we were working on today that involved a lot of running; he did a good job of setting the tempo of practice early. He made some plays — he didn't make them all, we overthrew him a few times — but he practiced really hard today. I was proud of Jalen."
Defensive Player of the Day: Nick Mobley, So, LB, Alabaster, Ala.
-Defensive coordinator Greg Stewart on Mobley: "Nick has been consistent all camp, he is coming on and becoming a really good player. He knows what to do, and he knows what everybody does. I am expecting big things from Nick this fall."

Head coach Steve Campbell
-On his thoughts on today's practice: "Today was a good, positive day. I thought we got better. I loved the way we came out at the start of practice. I thought our tempo was good, especially after a 100-plus play scrimmage. I liked the way we transitioned and I thought we corrected some things from the [second] scrimmage. We battled through it and I liked the way we handled all the elements. Today was one of our better days since we've been here."
-On the team developing a toughness: "We're developing a much tougher mentality. Little things that are part football and have been for a hundred years like an ankle sprain or a little soreness, we've got guys battling through that and pushing through right now. That's what you've got to have because the only way to get better is to be out on the practice field. We had two or three linemen that battled through some ankle sprains. They pushed through that and got better because of it. I felt today was our best day conditioning wise. We moved around better on and off the field."
-On what he wants to see in tomorrow's practice: "I want us to have another productive day of handling whatever adversity comes our way. I want us to be fundamentally better in some of the things we didn't do in the last scrimmage. We were able to knock a good handful of those things out in today's practice. Tomorrow will be another day of cleaning things up. We still have a thing or two that we want to install before camp is over."
Up next: South Alabama will return to the practice field Friday afternoon from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Jaguar Training Center.
