Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"It was 3-1 in the seventh (inning), but we just didn't do a good job of winning the last nine outs. Troy played a better ballgame today from start to finish. We had some chances with some men on (base), but couldn't get the hit. We didn't have a great approach with (Max) Newton's changeup, and just didn't pressure it enough. We didn't pressure enough on offense, but we were still in position in the last-third of the game, and that's all you can ask. But we didn't play good enough baseball on either side of the ball."
- On the urgency of playing in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament:
"We've been playing with urgency for the last month. The guys have played extremely well, but this one is unfortunate to lose two in a row the way we did. Our back has been up against the wall. We were out of the tournament a month ago, and we were second (place) in the (Sun Belt) East (Division) coming into yesterday. You hate to have to play the play-in game; it's not the position we're used to, but it's the position that we are in and we'll make the most of it."
