MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team defeated ULM 4-0 Saturday at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Courts.

The Jaguars improve to 17-3 overall and 6-1 in the Sun Belt Conference while the Warhawks fall to 9-3 and 4-2.

DOUBLES
-Yurie Takanishi and Nikola Kohoutova opened the day with a 6-1 win against Florencia Salerno and Jimena Paula Garbino on court 3.
-Alexandria Stiteler and Patricia Martins clinched the doubles point for the Jags dropping Shivani Manjanna and Angeles Maria Cueto 6-3 at No. 2.

SINGLES
-Kohoutova started singles play besting Tiffany Phaysouphan 6-2, 6-0 to put the Jags up 2-0 on court 3.
-USA maintained the shutout thanks to Stiteler's 6-3, 6-3 win against Emilia Alfaro at No. 1.
-Milka Pasanen finished the singles sweep downing Cueto 6-3, 6-4 on court 5.

"We played a good match today. Monroe is a team that competes really hard and makes a lot of balls so they force you to put them away. I thought we started off very well with the doubles point and put out a couple of good single spots to put pressure on them."

NOTES
-South Alabama has won 63 consecutive home matches
-Kohoutova and Pasanen have won nine singles matches in a row
-Pasanen picked up her first singles decision since March 17
-Takanishi and Kohoutova each have a 12-4 record in doubles, including a 4-1 mark as a team
-Today was the fifth meeting between the two schools since 2010 but the first in the regular season since 2008
