QUOTES
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On the back-to-back titles: "I mean it has been quite a journey this year. We went on a good winning streak in the middle of the season. Then we hit a wall on the Florida swing, with three loses, all close matches. That was tough. That kind of woke us up, and we started the conference schedule."
"We had a rough match against Georgia State, they beat us 4-3 at home. They had some injuries in that match and we played not to lose instead of playing to win. Today, that was a big change. We played to win today."
"The key today was how important it is to get on the board quickly. Doubles, I think we may have choked a bit on doubles. We were up on courts one and two. At the end of the day, Georgia State is a good team that is well coached and strong in doubles. We went into singles, knowing that it is our thing. We didn't have the best days on one and two but the guys stuck in there. Max was also struggling on court four, but I was telling him not to let his opponent close it out. He came back and won the second set and that helped tremendously."
"How about Louis, Sam, and Clement being able to close the first set and their matches, putting us up 3-1. All of sudden the pressure went from us to them, having to win all the remaining singles matches. I mean at the end of the day we just have to stay loose and hit. Loic was in the same situation last year. He has to stay solid, and stay in the point. These guys worked so hard and they wanted it so bad. All year we have been talking about "for the boys". You play for the guy next to you and that's what we did."
