MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama men's tennis team fell 3-4 to the Georgia State Panthers in a match that came down to the wire on Sunday afternoon at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
The Jaguars were up 3-2 on Georgia State with two matches heading into the third and decisive set. Sacha Modica on court one and Maxime Lapraille on court four battled back to get it there. Both players lost the first set, and won the second set to force the winner-take-all third set. When Modica fell on court one, Lapraille was down 1-3 to his opponent. Lapraille made it a match but it was too much to overcome as Georgia State took it 6-3 for the point and the match.

QUOTES
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On the performance today: "I mean we didn't deserve to win today. I don't think this team is better than us, we are on a very similar level. Georgia State was fighting today, they showed a lot of heart. They even had some players out and we just choked. Can't be afraid to say that we just choked. Georgia State wanted it more than us and that's why they won. To be honest, if we had won today it would have been lucky. We were complaining about everything instead of focusing on the main thing, which is to win. We have to learn from this. Georgia State acted professionally, they were competitive and loud. We were timid, shy, and negative. I think we were the best team out there but they're walking away with the win because they wanted it more."
On moving forward: "I think we are still the top two teams in the conference, but you can't look ahead to say we are going to play them in the final. We have Louisiana and UT Arlington next week. It is going to be a big trip on the road. We have to look ourselves in the mirror. We had some point penalties today and had some guys with a lack of energy and fighting spirit. I don't care what our record is, we have to play and show up."
