QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the game:
"Auburn played better than we did in all facets. We made four errors, and very rarely will you beat an average team with four errors; you're not going to beat a good team like that with four errors and a bad start. We need to pitch better and play better defense. Every now and then you're going to get stuffed a little bit, but you have nine innings. We pushed and had some opportunities, but credit Auburn which did a very nice job pitching. We let some opportunities slide by, and we won the last three innings of the ballgame. It was the first six (innings) that we didn't play well enough."Â
- On right-hander Jase Dalton:
"Jase was outstanding. He was a candidate to start, but he has been so valuable and good for us out of the bullpen since week one at Clemson. I fully anticipated the effort he gave us. He comes in and competes, and we had a couple of defensive miscues behind him but it just doesn't faze him. He competed really hard, and he is huge for us moving forward."
