MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team defeated Tennessee Tech 10-3 Sunday in the series finale at Stanky Field. USA (4-2) secured the three-game series sweep with the victory, and extended its win streak to four games.

GAME FACTS
- The Jags loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first inning on consecutive singles by Bennett Shell and Ethan Wilson, and a walk by Wells Davis. Carter Perkins followed with an RBI single back up the middle to score Shell with the game's first run.
- USA loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the second after Sandle reached on a hit by pitch to lead off the inning, and Shell and Wilson drew one-out walks. But TTU left-hander Alex Hursey escaped the jam by rolling a 4-6-3 inning-ending double play off the bat of Davis to preserve a one-run TTU deficit.
- Santi Montiel led off the bottom of the fourth with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Michael Sandle, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on an RBI sac bunt by Brandon Auerbach for a 2-0 Jaguar lead. Perkins delivered a two-out, two-run single to left-center field later in the inning to extend the USA lead to 4-0.
- TTU answered in the top of the sixth on a two-out home run to right field by Anthony Carrera to cut the Jaguar lead to 4-2.
- South Alabama responded in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI bunt single to second by Shell that scored Montiel, who led off the inning with a walk, for a 5-2 Jaguar advantage. Wilson delivered a one-out, two-run triple to right field later in the inning to push the USA lead to 7-2.
- USA scored the game's final runs in the bottom of the eighth. Kaleb DeLaTorre scored when Brandon Auerbach reached on a throwing error by TTU second baseman Nathan McMeans, a wild pitch from TTU right-hander Grant Phillips scored Montiel from third, and a one-out RBI double to right field by Shell accounted for the final runs of the contest.

QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the series sweep:
"I'm very proud of the guys. I was extremely proud of them yesterday, and I am really proud of them today. You had a quick turnaround, but they approached it the right way. We have some good players. If they have the right approach mentally and physically, we've got a chance to win our share. This was one of those games, I told them, which are extremely important at the end of the year. Being able to finish off a good team and learning how to sweep, I think is very important and our guys approached it the right way."
- On Caleb Yarborough:
"Caleb has been really good. I thought he was better this weekend than he was last weekend. We extended his pitch count a little bit. We have a lot of faith in him. His fastball is sneaky and his secondary stuff is coming along. The kid has worked extremely hard to be where he is at, and I couldn't be more proud of him."
Bennett Shell, outfield
- On his performance:
"I just saw the ball a lot better today, and really the entire weekend. I was just thinking about seeing it deep, and thinking middle-away even on the inside pitch. It was a good weekend; I needed that."
- On the series sweep:
"This last game was very important. They (Tennessee Tech) are a heck of a team. We played great. I am proud of our team."
