MOODIE RELEASES JAGUAR SOCCER’S FALL SIGNING CLASS

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama soccer head coach Richard Moodie announced Friday five signees for his fall recruiting class that will be enrolling for the 2020 season.

Joining the program are Hailey Bastian, Aníta Dögg Guðmundsdóttir, Kailey Littleford, Allison Luckhardt and Momo White.

"The one thing that we were looking for was trying to bring in more domestic players because we've been at the mercy of the landscape of women's football where kids were committing so early," Moodie said. "So this has been a really good opportunity for us to recruit good local players. We obviously have to replace seven seniors and make our team stronger. We've got a good group and whether or not they can have an immediate impact remains to be seen."

Hailey Bastian - Forward
Navarre, Fla.
Navarre High School

Four-year starter for the Raiders, who reached the round of 16 in the state 2017-19... Scored four goals in one game against Crestview... Played 13 years for Gulf Coast Texans club team... Led Texas to Club Directors League and IMG championships, and an IMG runner-up finish... Two-time Disney finalist... Team's leader in goals and assists last two seasons, as well as serving as team captain... Four-year starter for ODP team.

Moodie on Bastian: "Hailey is a product of the Pensacola Texans and a well-coached individual. She's really athletic and compares to Briana Morris and Kory Dixon – she's fast, plays outside and is an extremely hard worker. She's someone who I think will find herself playing minutes as a freshman and having an immediate impact."

Aníta Dögg Guðmundsdóttir – Goalkeeper
Kopavogur, Iceland
Flensborg

Spent 2016-19 with club team Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar… Made 15 appearances in the first team in 2018, playing 1,193 minutes… Capped at the U17 and U19 levels for Iceland… Earned player of the match honors with the U19 team.

Moodie on Guðmundsdóttir: "Aníta, like Allison Luckhardt, comes in with a high pedigree; her team just got promoted to the Pepsi League. She's got a really good football IQ and understands the game. She's played at a top level and is around the national team. With her addition, we have three extremely good goalkeepers and surely one of them can step up and fill the position."

Kailey Littleford – Forward/Midfielder
Birmingham, Ala.
Chelsea High School

Named first team all-state by media and coaches, as well as first team all-metro and all-county… Scored 41 goals with 20 assists as a junior, 24 goals, 14 assists as a sophomore and 13 goals, 9 assists as a freshman… Helped the Bees to a state title victory as a freshman and runner-up finish last season… Tied a school record with five goals in one match… Played six seasons for Alabama FC… Reached the national tournament in 2018.

Moodie on Littleford: "Kailey is an extremely talented individual that had a lot of interest from multiple schools and we're just thankful we came out as the top choice. She's someone we think will have an immediate impact. She's very Briana Morris-esque in terms of speed, agility and strength, but perhaps as a freshman could be a little more technical. We don't expect her to score the same amount of goals as Briana early on, but she's very versatile, can play out wide, underneath the '9' or as the No. 9. Something we've identified as something you need in this league to win is speed and power out wide, and Kailey will bring that for us."

Allison Luckhardt - Goalkeeper
Olive Branch, Miss.
Briarcrest Christian School

Earned four varsity letters for the Saint Bernards... Recorded 11 shutouts her senior year to lead BCS to a state championship... Briarcrest won four regional championships during her career and was the 2017 state runner-up... Played nine seasons for CSA Lobos Rush club team... Won state crowns in 2018 and 2019 and a southern regional title in 2019, and were region finalists in 2018... USYS national runner-up.

Moodie on Luckhardt: "She's coming off winning a state championship with Briarcrest. She's a phenomenal goalkeeper and is someone that almost singlehandedly put her team in the state final. She's someone that has continued to impress us with her play over the last three or four years. She's going to come in and fight for the No. 1 spot."

Momo White – Midfielder
Birmingham, Ala.
The Westminster School at Oak Mountain

Has earned six varsity letters in soccer, track, cross country and basketball… Led soccer program to state title in 2019 and the basketball team to the state semifinals in 2017 and 2019… Set new school record for career goals through junior season (101)… Named first team all-county and super all-state, and the Shelby County Player of the Year by the Shelby County Reporter as a junior… Tabbed second team all-county as a freshman and first team all-county and second team all-state as a sophomore… Voted to all-county basketball team three times, all-city team twice and all-state team once… Played seven seasons with Alabama FC… Led club to ECNL playoffs in 2015, 2016 and 2017… Ranked No. 49 in top high school athletes in Alabama.

Moodie on White: "We've had the pleasure of watching Momo the last four years. She's a phenomenal talent and for me, she's got that Power 5 stature and ability. She can play at center back or center mid, but it'll be interesting to see where she fits in as a freshman because she'll need to play somewhere. She's got the ability, but moving forward, we saw her as a center mid, taking over after the next graduating class."
