LOUISILLE, Ky. – After recording multiple season- and career-high marks in the University of South Alabama football program's victory Saturday, Tra Minter was one of four individuals selected to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll on Monday morning.

Minter touched the ball four different ways in a 41-31 Sun Belt Conference defeat of Texas State, posting a career-best 171 all-purpose yards while scoring his first two touchdowns of the season.  The junior running back from Ellaville, Ga., led all rushers with 61 yards on just nine attempts, reaching the end zone from two and three yards out in the second quarter to mark first time he has scored more than once in a game since joining the program last fall.  He also ran back four kicks for 115 yards — the highest total of his career — caught two passes and had one punt return.

He became the first Jaguar since 2015 to record 100 or more yards returning kickoffs in multiple games in a season, and the first in program history to do so in consecutive contests.

Minter — who already ranks among the top 10 on the school's season record list with 314 kickoff return yards this fall — leads the Sun Belt Conference through three games with an average of 26.17 yards per kick return and 147.67 all-purpose yards per game.  He stands second in the country in combined kick return yards, and is also among the top 25 in kickoff returns and all-purpose yards.

The Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission, and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.  Minter is now among the candidates who can be voted on by the general public by visiting http://www.louisvillesports.org/paul-hornung/award-poll/ on the web; individuals may vote once every 24 hours through Nov. 3.

Minter and the Jags will next be in action on Saturday when they visit Memphis for a contest that will kick off at 7 p.m. (CDT).
