MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 match to Alabama-Birmingham Sunday at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
 
DOUBLES
-At court 3, freshmen Santiago Di Loreto (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Maxime Lapraille (Ophain, Belgium) fell to Kenton Patron and Anru Fourie 6-1.
-Sophomores Clement Marzol (Toulouse, France) and Loic Cloes (Oreye, Belgium) won 6-3 over Tim Dollman and Stephan Gonzalez at No. 1.
-Henry Paiste and Nikolai Manchev secured the doubles point for UAB by defeating senior Oliver Gingras (Quebec City, Canada) and junior Sacha Modica (London, England) 7-6 (7-4) on court 2.
 
SINGLES
-Modica started singles by defeating Fourie 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3, and Cloes put the Jags up 2-1 by rallying to beat 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 on court 2.
-At No. 5, junior Lucas Gonzalez (Chateauroux, France) fell to Manchev 6-4, 6-3, but Lapraille gave USA a 3-2 lead with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 victory on court 6.
-Dollman defeated Marzol 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 1, and Patron clinched the win for UAB by defeating Gingras 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (8-10), 6-3 on court 4.

"We came out sleepy, and it took us a long time to wake up. Some of us didn't wake up at all. We had two match points to win the doubles point. Then we move into singles, and it was just error after error. We're going to have to regroup, and we've got two weeks before the conference tournament. We've really got to man up and figure out what's going on because it's one thing if the other team beats you, but we had a lot of mistakes. It was very disappointing overall, and the guys know it."
