THEY SAID IT
USA head coach Terry Fowler
Opening Statement: "Want to thank marketing and promotions for getting the kids here today. It was a great crowd. The 13-0 start is the difference in the game. You take that away and it's a plus-one game for us. They got off to a great start. We got shots that we wanted and we just couldn't finish and put them in the basket. From that point on it was just playing catch-up. Disappointing, but we have to learn. Their physicality took us out of what we wanted to do."
Â
On how much of it was their defense and USA's shots rolling in-and-out: "It was a combination of both. When we got good looks and they didn't go, it was just us missing a shot. They sped us up a little bit. We were right at the basket they spin and someone would come and crowd you. Then we would shoot quicker than we normally would. It was a combination of their defense and our inability to make shots."
Â
On what he wants to see after the last two losses: "It's just come back and fight. We have hit some adversity now. It's not he adversity, it's how we respond to it. We have to come out and play. It's not necessarily winning and losing, it's about coming out tomorrow working hard and coming back on Saturday. We then have to the let chips fall and play as well as we can play and see what happens."
