QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the series:
"Any time you sweep, especially a doubleheader, it's a big deal; doubleheaders are hard. We faced some good arms today. We pulled away late in both, but I thought Hartford threw some really good arms. They have some good, aggressive hitters, and they play very good defense. This was their first weekend, so you have to credit them. They are coached well and they played hard. I like some of the things our guys did. Our start in the second game wasn't real good, but (Caleb) Yarborough was pretty good out of the bullpen. He settled the game down and did a nice job. Zach Greene in the first game was pretty solid. He gave up some hits, but he didn't walk anybody. It was a long day, but our guys played hard. We made uncharacteristic defensive mistakes; we need to pitch better in spurts and play better defense and I'll like where we're at."
- On miscues:
"It's some routine plays that we've missed. We have had some missed reads on ground balls, but I'm giving them tomorrow off and Monday is a big class day. We will give them a day off, and we'll get some ground balls and take BP on Monday. Defensively, we have some guys moving around out there, but this is the hardest working group I've ever had. When they make an error, it's not an effort error. I like our defense; Donovan and Russo have been really good. We've made a couple of errors, but they haven't hurt us. Our guys have kind of pitched around it and done a nice job with that. I was proud of the effort this week."
- On the upcoming Auburn game:
"It shouldn't be a lack of excitement for Auburn in here on Tuesday. We're looking forward to it. They are a well-coached team, and it should be a great college baseball atmosphere."
