THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Matthew Graves
Opening statement: "I thought we really battled back and had some opportunities late, but it's disappointing that after we talked about playing with a sense of urgency and having a great deal of energy to start the game, the first eight to 10 minutes we were really flat. When you dig yourself an 18-point deficit, you spend a lot of energy coming back. Credit to the guys, they had opportunities, but if we had gotten off to a better start, it might have been a different story at the end."
On what changed in the second half: "We realized that if we played with a sense of urgency and good pace, and have more of an attacking mindset, we can get more things done, both offensively and defensively. We did a better job of being physical in the second half; we committed a few too many fouls there at times, but we were very aggressive defending the ball, and that's what I like. We just have to get better at it and be more consistent."
On Rodrick's performance: "He did a great job in the second half of getting in a rhythm. He picked his spots, found some open shots and our guys did a great job of getting him the basketball. When we're able to get out in transition, we can put some points on the board in a hurry."
