"The sign of a good team is one that responds after things don't go the way you want the day before, and our kids came out today and had strong bats," said USA Head coach Becky Clark. "Our offense was really good today. Any time you get beat, you want to take it out on the teams you play after, and I think our team did that today.
Â
"Also, our pitchers gave us a chance to win today," she added. "Even more than Devin's strikeouts, I'm happy about her not allowing any walks. We talked about what would be a step forward for her, and it was attacking the strike zone."
