JAGUAR FOOTBALL INKS TWO-GAME SERIES WITH SDSU, MEMPHIS

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football program signed contracts for a pair of home-and-home series — one to begin in the fall and one that starts in 2018 — Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann announced Wednesday.

The Jaguars will travel to San Diego State on Sept. 19 next season, with the Aztecs returning to Mobile the following year on Oct. 1, in an agreement that replaces UAB on the schedule after the school's decision to discontinue football in December.

It will be the Jags' first meeting with an opponent from the Mountain West Conference, while the 2015 trip will mark their first visit to the Golden State since earning a 24-21 victory at UC Davis on Oct. 23, 2010.  With the agreement, USA's non-Sun Belt Conference slate is set through the 2017 campaign.

On Sept. 22, 2018, the Jaguars will take on Memphis on the road, with the two schools competing in Mobile on Sept. 14 a year later.  It's the first match-up for the program against an American Athletic Conference foe; Tulane was a member of Conference USA when the Jags defeated the Green Wave, 41-39, in New Orleans on Sept. 7, 2013.

South Alabama's complete 2015 schedule is slated to be released in early March.
