MOBILE, Ala. – A pair of former University of South Alabama football players will be participating in postseason all-star games on Saturday, with both contests scheduled to be televised live that afternoon.
Brandon Bridge will quarterback the National team at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which kicks off at 3 p.m. (CST) and will be televised on ESPN2, while Wes Saxton is slated to be a member of the East squad in the East-West Shrine Game; the 90th edition of the contest will be broadcast on the NFL Network, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. as well.
In addition to carrying the game, the ESPN family of networks will air practice from the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Wednesday from noon-2 p.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. the following day on ESPNU.
It's the second time in three years that a Jaguar has been invited to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, with Jake Johnson and B.J. Scott both participating in the contest in January 2013. Â Saxton's appearance in the East-West Shrine Game will be the first for a former USA player.
