MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football team will have at least one national television appearance during the 2014 season with a change in its schedule announced Tuesday.

The Jaguars will play host to Troy on Friday, Oct. 24, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in a Sun Belt Conference contest that will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.

"Any time we can be on national TV and the get University of South Alabama's name out there we're excited about it," said Jag head coach Joey Jones.  "Playing a great opponent like Troy on national television certainly adds a lot to that game.  When you look at weekday games — those on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays — everybody is watching it, so there will be a captive audience and a lot of people across the country will be able to see South Alabama football."

USA's only other national television appearance to date was when its match-up at Navy last fall was carried on CBS Sports Network; the Jaguars have also had several games air regionally on the SEC Network and CSS during their first five seasons of competition.
