HATTIESBURG, Miss. – University of South Alabama women's soccer center forward Lauren Allison scored her second game-winner in as many matches on Friday, delivering a 98^th-minute tally to lead the Jaguars past Southern Miss at USM Soccer Complex.
 
Allison first gave USA (4-0-1) a lead in the 22^nd minute, and Baker High School graduate Maha Maarouf doubled the visitor advantage less than 20 minutes later, but the Golden Eagles (3-1-1) stormed back on a Danica Roberts brace to force overtime.
 
Eight minutes into overtime, however, Allison buried a golden goal to raise her season tally to seven in four appearances. Allison attempted seven shots on the night, placing two on frame. USA outshot the Golden Eagles, 19-13, on Friday. USA keeper Melissa Drish made five saves.
 
USA outshot Southern Miss, 9-4, and forced the only two corners of the first 45 in a dominating start, but USM rallied after the interval, outshooting the visitors, 9-7 and doubling USA in corner kicks.
 
Roberts converted less than 10 minutes into the second half, and then equalized from the penalty spot in the 65^th for her sixth goal of the year.
 
The Jaguars are now 8-4 all-time versus Southern Miss. USA, now unbeaten in its first five games, will travel next to face UAB at West Campus Field in Birmingham, Ala., for a Sunday afternoon contest.
