Game Notes
MOBILE, Ala. – Following a stellar homestand in which University of South Alabama outscored its opponents, 21-0, in three shutout victories, the Jaguars now embark on perhaps their most challenging weekend of the season, rounding the panhandle to face two battle-tested outfits in South Florida and North Florida.
Â
USA (7-1-1) currently leads the NCAA in goals (36), assists (38) and points (110). The Jaguars are averaging four goals per game, while holding their opponents to less than one.
Â
Freshman Lauren Allison showed her ability to pass the ball last week, dishing out five assists to complement nine season goals and raise her point total to 23, the nation's second-best tally.
Â
Allison is also tied for third in goals, fourth in points per game (2.88) and tied for 10th in goals per game (1.125).
Â
South Florida recently dropped a 1-0 decision to then-No. 18/9 South Carolina, despite outshooting the Gamecocks, before grinding out a one-all draw to then-No. 9/10 Florida. USF, which has 10 national team players on roster, is only scoring 1.88 goals per game, but is holding opponents to 0.50.
Â
North Florida fell to South Florida earlier this season, 1-0. The Ospreys are unbeaten in their last two since dropping four in a row. UNF will face Furman on Friday.Â
