CHANGES MADE TO 2014 SOUTH ALABAMA FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann announced several changes to the football program's 2014 schedule on Wednesday.

The adjustments include one new opponent, with two other scheduled contests moved to different dates.

On Nov. 22, the Jaguars will now visit South Carolina, which will mark the third season in a row that USA will face at least one opponent from the Southeastern Conference — the Jags dropped a 30-10 decision at nationally-ranked Mississippi State a year ago, and are scheduled to take on Tennessee in Knoxville this fall on Sept. 28.

With the addition of USC to the schedule, USA will no longer visit Georgia.  The contest with the Gamecocks also resulted in moving the Jaguars' match-up with Navy — originally slated to be played on that date — to Friday, Nov. 28, with the game set to air live on ESPN3 and the Armed Forces Network.

It was also announced that the Jags and Mississippi State will meet in Mobile on Sept. 13, one week prior to the original date.

USA's fourth non-Sun Belt Conference opponent next season is Kent State, with the date of that game set for Sept. 6.
