BRADENTON, Fla. – Ana Garcia shot an even-par 72 in the final round of the USF Waterlefe Invitational at Waterlefe Golf and River Club Tuesday to earn a top-10 finish.

Garcia (80-78-72) finished with a three-round total of 230 to tie for seventh place, marking her second top-10 finish in as many tournaments. The Niceville, Fla., native ranked third in the tournament with 38 pars, and finished just 1-over par on par fives.

Garcia shot 1-under par on the front nine after a birdie on the ninth. A bogey at 18 put her at 1-over par on the back nine, and even for the round.

Kristen Golightly (79-79-77) tied for 17th to earn her third consecutive top-20 finish this season. Golightly closed the tournament with a 5-over par 77 for a three-round total of 235.

South Alabama (314-321-305) shot a 305 in the final round to earn its second consecutive top-five finish.

“They [the team] knew Anna [Sellén-Runefjell] wasn’t going to play this morning, and it kind of fired them up a little bit to give a little extra,” Jaguar head coach T.J. Jackson said. “We lost a few shots coming in. All four were playing real solid, and we still turned in a good score with just four players. We have good team chemistry going, and the girls came back and fought hard in the last round.”

Ingrid Hagen (84-80-80) finished with a three-round total of 234, while Ashleigh Ryals carded a 4-over par 76 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 249.

Anna Sellén-Runefjell (75-84) withdrew from the tournament before the final round.

“We had four players with a chance to post a low score, and three of them came through with a pretty good score today,” Jackson said. “We need to carry that forward and be ready for our tournament at Middle Tennessee.”

South Florida (305-294-296) won the tournament with a three-round team total of 895, while USF’s Christina Miller won individual medalist honors.

South Alabama will have a week off from competition before returning at the Blue Raider Invitational at Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Oct. 24-25, to close its fall schedule.
