MOBILE, Ala. –Louisiana-Lafayette forward Chelsea Balestra scored twice, as the University of South Alabama soccer team fell to the Ragin’ Cajuns, 2-0, Friday night at the Ragin’ Cajun Soccer Facility.
USA fell to 2-7-1 on the year and 0-1 in Sun Belt Conference Action.
Balestra scored a header off a rebound in the 39th minute, and doubled the score in the 54th minute on an assist from Kelli Jestes.
ULL (5-5, 1-0) outshot the Jags 11-6.
“It was a disappointing loss, “Jaguar head coach Mike Varga said. “ We have to come out ready to play and we didn’t do that tonight. I saw some improvements in the second half but, we have the play with intensity from the start of the match.”
The Jags return to action Sunday against Louisiana-Monroe. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m in Monroe, La.
