TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – University of South Alabama soccer fell to no. 5 Florida State 8-0 Friday evening at Seminole Soccer Complex.
FSU (2-0-0) took a 1-0 lead when Ines Jaurena scored on a header from eleven feet off of assists from Jessica Price and Toni Pressley at the 10:57 mark of the first half.
The Seminoles extended their lead to 2-0 when Rachel Lim scored on a cross from four feet with 22:11 left in the first half. Price assisted on the goal.
FSU took a 3-0 lead on a 26-foot goal from Price, on assists from Amanda DaCosta and Alex Crown, at the 25:59 mark of the first half. The Seminoles held a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Lim gave the Seminoles a 4-0 lead at the 36:22 mark of the second half when she netted a 25-foot goal. FSU extended its lead to 5-0 on a header by Becky Edwards with 32:57 left in the game.
FSU added to its advantage at the 30:01 mark of the second half on a goal by Tori Huster to take a 6-0 lead.
The Seminoles took a 7-0 lead when Tiffany McCarty scored on a cross with 28:45 left in the match. Breezy Hupp scored on a one-timer from Pressley at the 27:29 mark of the second half to give FSU an 8-0 lead.
USA goalkeeper Katie Berry recorded six saves in the match.
