MOBILE, Ala. ? The University of South Alabama soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Mississippi State University Friday night at “The Cage” in the first match of the South Alabama Soccer Tournament.
MSU sophomore forward Danielle Kite scored the only goal in the match at the 32:36 mark of the first half from the left side of the box off of assists from Kevyn Shelledy and Leanna Baldner.
South Alabama goalkeeper Kelsie Langford recorded seven saves in the contest.
MSU (3-3) finished with eight shots on goal, while USA ended the match with three. The Bulldogs out shot the Jags 14-5 on the night.
USA (1-5) will take on the Nicholls State Colonels on Saturday at “The Cage” in the second match of the tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
