Vaikla was the Jaguars' top finisher at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round over the week after coming in 16th place in a field of 48 competitors in the women's javelin.  Her mark of 46.92m was the best of her first season at the collegiate level, and is also ranks fourth on the school's all-time performance list.
