A game after the No. 23 University of South Alabama softball pitching staff gave up eight runs on 10 hits to Louisiana-Monroe in six innings, Beard struck out 12 Warhawks to a single walk and allowed a lone hit in her first appearance since Feb. 7 to lead the Jags to a 2-0 Sun Belt Conference series-evening victory on Sunday at ULM Softball Complex. Beard’s no-hitter was broken up two-thirds of the way through the sixth frame while no ULM runners advanced past second base during the contest. The double-digit strikeout performance was the 18th of Beard’s career.
