Rubit set a new career high with 34 points in South Alabama’s 88-64 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Thursday, as he shot 11 of 16 from the floor and 12 of 16 from the free throw line; the 12 free throws tied a career high and the 16 attempts were a new personal best, and in the process, set a new school mark with 159 free throws this season. Rubit’s 34 points are tied for the most by a player in the Sun Belt this season, while it was his third 30-point game in 2012-13 – a conference best – and the most by a USA player since 2007-08. Rubit also grabbed a game-best 12 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season, as he leads the Sun Belt in rebounding (10.7) and is second in scoring (19.6) and double-doubles.
