Paula Perez Cubinas joined the South Alabama women’s golf program prior to the start of the 2025-26 season as a graduate assistant coach. Cubinas joined the Jaguar program after wrapping up a solid career at Jacksonville State where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Gamecocks.
The Girona, Spain, native helped Jacksonville State claim a runner-up finish at the 2025 CUSA Championship. During her final season with JSU, Cubinas competed in eight tournaments where she averaged 77.67 strokes per round and compiled 46 birdies. She was a 2024 CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and as a junior, she competed in 11 tournaments with a 77.303 average and 67 birdies in her 33 rounds of action. Her best finish of the 2023-24 season came at the USA Intercollegiate held at Magnolia Grove where she placed sixth. Her performance was highlighted by rounds of 71 and 69. As a sophomore in 2022-23, she carded 65 birdies.
