Kyle Skierski

Kyle Skierski joined South Alabama in 2023 as a defensive quality control analyst, and was promoted to tight ends coach prior to the 2024 season.

In 2024, Skierski helped the Jaguars to an overall record of 7-6 with a victory in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl. It was the program’s second-straight bowl championship in as many years.

During the 2024 campaign, Skierski coached tight end DJ Thomas-Jones, who caught 22 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns. The Saraland, Ala. native also played a key role in blocking for South’s running backs who scored a Sun-Belt best 32 rushing touchdowns. Thomas-Jones signed a free agent deal with the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers after graduating from South Alabama.

Ahead of his time at South, Skierski spent the 2022 season as the offensive line coach at Nicholls State. Before Nicholls, SKierski was the offensive line coach at the University of West Georgia for three seasons. During his time at UWG, the Wolves posted a 9-3 record in 2021 and reached the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Three of his offensive linemen earned all-conference honors as the unit ranked eighth in the nation in sacks allowed.

Before his three seasons in Georgia, Skierski also spent three years at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. At Millsaps, he served as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. The program won 20 wins in his three seasons and ranked third in the country in sacks allowed. Before Millsaps, Skierski also had stints at Birmingham Southern College and Aurora University as an offensive line coach.

Skierski coached at TCU as a graduate assistant from 2011-13. He helped lead the Horned Frogs to a third-straight Mountain West Conference Championship in 2011, and had four offensive linemen drafted into the NFL during his tenure with the program.

Skierski played his college football at UC Davis and graduated with degrees in communications and organizational studies. Following graduation, he went on to play three seasons in the European Federation of American Football.
