JUNIOR SEASON (2007):  Played in 26 matches for USA as a junior, starting two...In her 70 games of action, she averaged 1.23 digs per game...Had a season-high 10 digs at Troy (9/24)...Had three aces against Alcorn State (9/18).

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2006):  Started seven matches for the Jags as a sophomore, while competing in 97 games...Ranked second on the team in both digs (237) and digs per game (2.42)...For the second straight season, Downey was one of the top servers on the club, leading USA in both service aces (34) and aces per game (0.35)...Had a season-high 24 digs in the 3-1 victory over Samford on Sept. 9 at the Jaguar Classic.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2005): Competed in all but one of South Alabama's 102 games...Ranked third on the club in service aces with 21 and second on the team in digs (291) and digs per game (2.85)...Tied USA's four-game match mark with 27 against Ole Miss (9/17)...Also recorded 23 digs in a four game match versus UL-Lafayette (10/28).

AT OAKRIDGE SECONDARY SCHOOL: Lettered for four seasons at outside hitter for Oakridge Secondary School in London, Ontario...As a senior, she led the team to a 36-4 record and a gold medal in the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) Championship, where her team competed against the Top-20 teams in Ontario...Also during her senior campaign, Downey was one of four recipients of the Miss Volleyball award in Ontario...She is a two-time Oakridge Athlete of the Year (junior and senior seasons) and was instrumental in four of 10 consecutive conference championships in volleyball...She also participated in track and field and badminton at Oakridge.

CLUB: Played five seasons for the Forest City Volleyball Club in Ontario...Also played club soccer for four seasons of Oakridge Optimists Soccer Club.

PERSONAL: Colleen Marie Downey...Born in London, Ontario, Canada...Has an older brother and sister...Brother competed in the Javelin at Cornell University and sister played volleyball at the University of Western Ontario...Hobbies include, rollerblading, running, soccer and badminton...Enjoys all types of music...Favorite book is The Bible...Favorite Food is chicken quesadilla and fiesta chicken...Went to same high school as Canadian Men’s National Volleyball Team member Paul Duerden...Majoring in Exercise Science.
