Morgan Parsons

Morgan (Stalcup) Parsons returned to her alma mater to join the South Alabama coaching staff during the spring of 2024. 

Parsons organizes the team’s travel and helps manage the budget, while also coordinating the team’s community outreach. On the court, she helps with the overall offense and is a for the middle hitters after having a decorated collegiate career.

Prior to joining the collegiate coaching ranks, Parsons acquired head coaching experience at the club level were she served as head coach for several teams with the LAV Volleyball Club from 2017-22.

Over the course of her playing career, Parsons competed in 86 matches and 286 sets, recording 429 kills with a .292 hitting percentage, 281 total blocks, 45 solo blocks, 236 block assists and a 1.00 blocks per set average.

Parsons' best season came during her final one in Mobile as she posted 203 kills with a .317 hitting percentage, while ranking second in total blocks (129), blocks per set (1.06) and block assists (106) to go along with 23 solo blocks.

Her 106 block assists during the 2022 season ranked as fourth-most for a single season, while her 129 total blocks were sixth-most on the single-season Top 10 list. Parsons also ended her career ranked in a couple of career categories: block assists (seventh) and blocks per set (eighth).

Parsons' career was one of perseverance as she twice suffered season-ending injuries only to battle back and return to the court. She was twice rewarded for her determination as she received the athletic department’s Perseverance Award at the annual Pete Tolbert Night of Champions ceremony.

Over the course of her collegiate career, Parsons was a four-time Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List selection.

The Roswell, Ga., native earned her bachelor degree in criminal justice from South Alabama in May 2020, and her master’s degree in public administration in December 2021. Parsons is currently working on her doctorate degree in criminology through South Florida. She is married to Marshal Parsons Jr.
