After starring on the court for South Alabama, Anna Loberg transitions to her new role with the program during the 2026 season, as she will serve as an assistant coach.
Over the course of her playing career, Loberg competed in 106 matches and 367 sets, recording 2,055 assists, 111 kills, 615 digs, 83 service aces and 82 total blocks. She left South Alabama ranked seventh in assists. Her four SBC Player of the Week selections tied for the most by a Jaguar setter in program history. She was also a first-team, all-league selection each of her final two seasons as a starter.
During the 2025 season, Loberg became just the second setter in program history to be selected as the SBC Setter of the Year, joining Kailey Keeble, who did so during the 2023 season.Â
During conference play, Loberg – who was named the SBC Preseason Setter of the Year prior to the start of the season – played some of her best ball as she was twice named the setter of the week. Her 9.24 assists per set against league foes were second-most among setters.
Loberg was a first-team, all-Sun Belt Conference selection following the 2024 season and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. In her first season as the full-time starter at the position, she was twice named SBC Setter of the Week and ended the season ranked second in the Sun Belt in assists (1,022) – which also ranked as eighth-most in a single season at South Alabama – and assists per set (10.12). In league play, South’s offense ranked second in assists and hitting percentage, and third in kills.
Over the course of her collegiate career, Loberg was also outstanding in the classroom as she was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List selection.
The Geneva, Ill., native earned her bachelor degree in hospitality and tourism management from South Alabama in May 2025, and is currently working on her master’s degree in business administration.Â
