The 2015-16 season will mark Kristen Golightly’s second year as a graduate assistant with the University of South Alabama women’s golf program. Golightly, a four-year letterwinner at USA from 2009-13, led the Jaguars in stroke average over her final two seasons and earned second-team all-Sun Belt Conference honors as a senior. The Pensacola, Fla., native capped her career with a career-low 3-under par 69 in the final round of the 2013 SBC Championship to earn a career-best third-place finish after a three-round, even par total of 216 en route to all-tournament team honors. Golightly’s individual performance helped the Jags earn a third-place finish at the 2013 SBC Championship, which marked their highest since 2008. She finished eighth in the SBC as a senior with a 76.48 stroke average.
Golightly took medalist honors at the 2011 Lady Jaguar Invitational as a sophomore with a three-round, 6-over par total of 222, which included a then-career low 1-over par 73 in the opening round of the tournament. She finished her Jaguar career with five top-five finishes, and placed in the top 10 in eight tournaments. Golightly recorded a 78.53 career stroke average in 92 rounds, and competed in 34 career tournaments at USA.
Golightly earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from USA in 2013, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in educational leadership.
