Matthew Daniels enters his second season with the Jaguar program after being named the director of basketball operations at South Alabama on June 9, 2014. The Rehobeth, Ala., native oversees community outreach and social media for the program, while also being in charge of team travel.
Daniels joined the Jaguar program after spending two seasons at Jacksonville University where he served as a as a graduate assistant coach on the men’s basketball staff under former Dolphin head coach Cliff Warren during the 2013-14 season. As a graduate assistant coach with the Dolphins, Daniels organized and edited video for scouting and player development, while also scheduling team functions and events.
While at JU, Daniels earned his masters of education degree in leadership and learning with a concentration in intentional leadership in the spring of 2014.
Daniels earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of North Alabama in 2012. During his time in Florence, Daniels served as a student manager for four seasons (2008-12) for Lions’ head coach Bobby Champagne. As a senior, Daniels was also a student worker in the UNA Compliance Office.
He has been a member of Rising Coaches Elite since June 2011.
