High School: Graduated from Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala., in 2021 … Won the 7A State indoor and outdoor championships in the pole vault event during his senior year … Set the freshman hurdle relay record for the Buccaneers … Most successful highlight during high school was setting a PR of five meters at the Challenge of Champions in Mobile.

Club: Competed for Peak Athletics from 2019-2021 … Won the 7A outdoor state championship in 2018 and 2019 … Earned Most Improved honors sophomore year.

Personal: Full name is Levi Everett Arroyo … Born June 20, 2000 … Son of Walter and Angela Arroyo … Has three older brothers – Stefan, Byron and Ansel … Chose USA for the engineering, ROTC and track & field programs … Goal is to PR in pole vaulting … Favorites – movie: “T-34”; book: “Red”; pro sports team: Baltimore Ravens; athlete: Marlon Humphrey; music artist: Cody Jinks; food: pupusas and seviche; class: physics-kinematics … Likes competitive activities, creative games and shows … Dislikes large crowds … Gets pumped up for meets by listening to music and focusing on the fun of the event … Superstitions include wearing sweatpants and shedding them during bad warmups to “restart” … Best part of playing sports to him is seeing the progress he makes … Would like to meet Keanu Reeves … Most people don’t know he is half Guatemalan … Most thankful for the way his parents raised him and the lessons of consistency his brothers taught him … Plans on joining the Air Force in the next five years … Three wishes include owning a large plot of land in a valley between three mountains with a river and a lake, the ability to learn everything in a book just by touching it and the ability to enter fictional worlds from books, shows or movies.
