Biography

2022: Outdoor — Named a member of the Sun Belt’s All Conference first team … Won the 5000m (14:21.24) and the 10,000m (29:20.13 PR) at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships … Placed first in the 5000m (14:01.07) at the Crimson Tide Invitational and in the 3000m (8:22.32) at the South Alabama Invitational … Set new personal records in the 1500m (4:00.35) at the UAB Green and Gold Invite and in the 5000m (14:00.77) at the Raleigh Relays. Indoor — Won both the 3000m (8:18.73) and the 5000m (14:05.26) at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships … Set a PR in the 3000m (8:13.31) and finished in first place at the USA Jaguar Invitational … Also won the 3000m at the Samford Invite 2022 (8:18.36) … finished second in the 3000m at the UAB Blazer Invitational (8:25.24). 

2021: Outdoor— Set a PR at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5000m with  a time of 14:34.24, which was good enough for seventh place … Finished in second in the 5000m (15:13.74) at the SLU Pre-Conference Tune Up … Took third in the 3000m at the LSU Boots Garland Invitational after running the race in 8:53.12. Indoor— Did not compete. XC— Earned first-team all-conference honors for the second year in a row after winning the 8K (23:51.3) at the Sun Belt Conference Championships and was named the league’s runner of the year ... Became the 11th male runner in program history to win an individual title and the first since Christoph Graf at the 2014 meet ... Finished inside the top 5 three times while also setting a new person best on three occasions ... Also set a pair of program top 10 times in the 8k … Was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week selection – 9/15, 9/22, 10/6 … First SBC runner to be named league runner of the week three times in a season since Louisiana’s Stanley Limoh (2017) and is one of three runners in program history to receive the honor three or more times in a season (Micah Tirop – 2008) and Vincent Rono (2005) … One of only five runners at South to receive the honor three or more times in their career (Tirop [8], Rono [6], Samson Kipchirchir [4] and Tonny Okello [3]) … One of eight runners in program history to advance to the NCAA Championships and the 15th overall appearance by a male runner where he finished inside the top 100 … Finished eighth and posted a PR in the 10K after crossing the finish line in 29:42.9 at the NCAA South Region Championships ... Set a personal best in the 8K with a time of 23:42.8 at the Louisville Classic ... Won the 5K with a personal-best time of 15:18.2 at the Azalea City Classic ... Led South Alabama in all seven races during the season.
 
2020: Outdoor— Won the 3000m with a time of 9:04.97 at the Jaguar Opener. Indoor— Recorded a personal best in the 3000m (8:37.93) and helped the distance medley race (10:22.72) place fourth at the Sun Belt Championships … Crossed the line in the 3000m at 8:45.39 at the Samford Bulldog Invite. XC— Named Sun Belt Conference Freshman and Newcomer of the Year … Earned first-team all-league honors … Led the Jaguars to the program’s ninth conference title and their first since 2014 … Was the first Jaguar to cross the line in three of South’s four meets during the fall … Recorded a new personal-best and a third-place finish at the Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships after posting a time of 24:39.1 in the 8k race … Set a new PB of 15:23.6 in the 5k race at the Azalea City Classic … Finished second at the Florida State Invitational in the 8k after crossing the finish line at 25:19.2.
