South Alabama track and field head coach Paul Brueske announced that Reagan Beal would be named an assistant Coach in 2019.

Beal will focus on coaching the sprint, hurdles, relays, and horizontal jumping events. He joined the Jaguar staff from USC Upstate, where he spent over three years as an assistant coach. During his time at USC Upstate, Beal coached seven NCAA First Round qualifiers, 11 Big South champions, 26 All-Conference performers, and the Big South record holders in the men’s 110m hurdles (13.49) and the women’s 100 meters (11.41) – each beating the previous record by over one second.

Prior to USC Upstate, Beal worked as an assistant coach at McKendree University from August2015 – May 2018. Under Beal, the team produced 11 NCAA DII All-Americans and seven GLVC Conference Athlete of the Year distinctions. In addition to the results, Beal was responsible for creating and directing the training program for the student-athletes.

Reagen Beal also served as a volunteer sprint coach at Kennesaw State for the 2014-15 season. At each of his previous three stops, Beal has coordinated recruiting visits and collaborated with the academic faculty to improve the team’s overall GPA.

Beal received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University in 2014. He continued his education, earning a Masters in Clinical Mental-Health Counseling from McKendree University in 2018. In addition to his work as a track coach, Beal has experience working as a residential mentor at IMG Academy and as a Counselor at Refuge for Kids.

Coach Beal has received USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning, Science of Speed Power Events, and Technical certifications.
