Tyler Brown is in his first season as a graduate assistant on the University of South Alabama men’s golf coaching staff.
In his role, he assists the program with the implementation and organization of practice plans as well as in tournament preparation, aids in recruiting, and helps with administrative compliance as well as academic regulations and procedures.
Brown was a member of the Jaguar program during the 2012-13 season, playing in three tournaments as a senior. After a 3-under-par 68 in the final round, he tied for 24th in his USA debut at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate as the Jaguars ended up third in a field of 15 teams, while at the USA Individual Tournament in the spring he posted a top-20 finish after a 2-under-par 69 on the last day of the event.
Prior to his arrival at USA, Brown was a two-year letterwinner at Faulkner State (Ala.) C.C. where shot a 5-under-par 67 in the opening round of the Spring Fling national tournament. He lettered four years in golf at Escambia Academy, also earning four letters in baseball and two in basketball for the Cougars.
Brown is a 2013 graduate of USA with a degree in business administration, and is currently working toward his masters in accounting as well.
