Charlton Zimmerman

Charlton Zimmerman joined the University of South Alabama men’s golf staff as a graduate assistant coach in August.

A former player on the collegiate level, he joined the program after serving as a non-PGA assistant teaching professional at the Harbor Point (Mich.) Golf Club.  In his role with the club, Zimmerman aided the head professional in practice sessions while creating youth camps in which he worked with individuals at a variety of age and skill levels.

He also has served as the assistant general manager at the Bruce Hills (Mich.) Golf Club and as a personal trainer at LA Fitness.

A native of Almont, Mich., Zimmerman lettered in golf for four years at Roosevelt (Ill.), serving as a team captain for the Lakers three seasons.  In addition to being named president of the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a senior, he also worked as a tutor for freshman and first-year transfer student-athletes before earning a bachelor’s degree in sustainability.  In addition to working toward a master’s degree in public administration at Delaware, Zimmerman is currently enrolled in the sports administration master’s program at South.
