USA WOMEN?S TENNIS TO TAKE ON NEW ORLEANS WEDNESDAY

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women’s tennis team is set to face Sun Belt competitor New Orleans Wednesday at 1 p.m. on USA’s campus at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

“It’s always important when we play these Sun Belt matches,” USA head coach Jaco Keyser said. “It’s going to be a strong, difficult match. Hopefully we can keep on making improvements in doubles and start playing some better points, that will lead to better games and eventually, better sets and matches.”

The Jaguars are 5-0 in the all-time series against the Privateers since 1996. The teams met last season when USA, then No. 56, downed UNO 7-0 at home.

South Alabama is 0-3 to start the season, with their most recent defeats coming when they hosted No. 38 FIU and North Texas Feb. 19 and Feb. 23. Both matches had a final score of 7-0.

New Orleans (2-3) is on a three-match losing streak. The Privateers fell to Northwestern State 7-0 on Feb. 19, followed by another 7-0 loss to Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 20.
