MOBILE, Ala.?The Lady Jags are set to host the 75th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs Sunday at 11 a.m.
The 56th-ranked Lady Jags have gone 3-0 against the Bulldogs since 2006. South Alabama defeated MSU 4-3 in their last meeting in 2008.
Off to a successful start, USA (3-2) has racked up wins against No. 71 Oklahoma State, New Orleans and Penn State. With seniors Michaela Babicova and Sylvanie Spangenberg leading a young South Alabama squad the Lady Jags are looking to pick up another win.
MSU is 4-0 so far this season, facing only one ranked opponent prior to South Alabama. The Bulldogs’ Radka Ferancova is undefeated in singles competition at 4-0. Mississippi State freshmen Olesya Tsigvintseva and Natalia Mayuk have won three out of four contests in doubles play, while having a combined four wins in singles competition.
Following the match the Lady Jags will continue their five-match homestand to take on Southeastern Louisiana on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m.
