EINEREN, JAGS IN THIRD AFTER DAY ONE AT ASU

JONESBORO, Ark. - Fanny Eineren shot 151 (78-73) to lead the University of South Alabama women's golf team to rounds of 316 and 314 Monday in the first day of the 2009 Lady Red Wolves Classic at Jonesboro Country Club.

Eineren's total puts her in third individually, just two strokes back of Arkansas State's Cassie Huffer, who sits atop the leader board. USA is tied for third with Troy and Memphis, trailing only Arkansas State and Murray State by 17 and nine strokes, respectively.

"We're still looking for more consistency with scoring," head coach T.J. Jackson said. "We're not getting enough opportunities, and we're not taking advantage of the ones we have."

For the second consecutive tournament, Eineren turned in the Jags' best 36-hole total. Her second-round 73 tied for the second-best round of the day, behind on Harding's Soyun Kim, who shot an even-par 71 in the first round.

Anna Sellen-Runefjell shot 159 (78-81), leaving her tied for 24th, while Claudia Wolf sits tied for 27th after carding a 160 (79-81). Nina Offenberg turned in a 36-hole total of 163 (81-82), while Ana Garcia rebounded nicely from a difficult first round on her way to shooting 169 (91-78).

"We're very close to breaking through, as all players have contributed," Jackson said. "We're looking forward to finishing strong tomorrow."

Tuesday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on the 5,983-yard, par-71 course at Jonesboro Country Club. Eineren will look to become USA's highest individual finisher since Shirley Harvey tied for third at the 2008 Troy University Women's Invitiational.
