MOBILE, Ala. ? USA will compete in the 28th Annual Southern Miss Cross Country Invitational on Friday in Hattiesburg, Miss. The women’s 5K race is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. and the men’s 8K will start at 5 p.m.
The men’s and women’s teams each placed third two weeks ago at the Azalea City Classic. Leading the men will be senior Micah Tirop and junior Antipah Sugut. The women will look to sophomore Magrina Chepkoech to lead in scoring.
Freshmen Damien Lee and J.R. Taylor were cleared to run in Friday’s race, which will help the chances of the men winning the team title. Recovering from an injury and cleared to run is freshman Sasha Corcoran, her status on running Friday has not yet been released.
