WOMEN?S GOLF TRAVELS TO GREAT SMOKIES INTERCOLLEGIATE
WAYNESVILLE, N.C. ? The University of South Alabama women’s golf team looks to continue its strong play as they travel to the Great Smokies Women’s Intercollegiate at Waynesville Country Club, Saturday and Sunday. Earlier in the week, the Lady Jags finished second as a team at the ULM Fred Marx Invitational, while senior Elin Andersson won her third career individual title.
“They played really solid up at Monroe so hopefully that will allow us to keep playing well,” head coach T.J. Jackson noted.
Last season, USA finished fourth at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate firing a two-day score of 592. Head coach T.J. Jackson will be taking four members from the squad that carded the low round of the tournament, 292, last season. This year’s tournament will feature 26 teams including Western Kentucky, Belmont and Jacksonville.
“The team is very familiar with the course and that will be an advantage to us,” Jackson said.
