MICAH TIROP FINISHES THE CROSS COUNTRY SEASON AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - University of South Alabama cross country runner Micah Triop finished 85th out of 250 runners with a time of 31.01.08 in the 10k race Monday morning at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.  This season marked the third consecutive year USA has had a runner compete in the national meet.

The Jag junior finishes the cross country season with four first-place finishes, including the Sun Belt Conference individual title, and two SBC runner of the week awards.

“I am pleased with the way Micah ran here championships and all season,” South Alabama cross country head coach Lee Evans said. “He has made great strides and now has a great experience to take into next season.”

In the team competition, the Oregon men and the Stanford women captured the team title, while Josh McDougal of Liberty won the men’s individual title and Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech repeated on the women's side.

The Jaguars will next begin their indoor track & field season when they compete at the Blue Raider Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Jan. 19.
