Memphis, Tenn. ? The University of South Alabama men’s golf team finished the final round of the rain shortened Memphis Intercollegiate in eighth place Tuesday. The Jaguars carded a final round of 302 and 36-hole score of 598. Mississippi won the team title turning in 572, while Kevin Foley of Penn State was the medalist at 138.
“Obviously we are disappointed with the way we played, but overall we need to look to the positives and play better in Nashville,” head coach Ben Hannan said. “I though Jack played very well considering the conditions.
During the second round, freshman Jack Hiluta and senior Jonny Caldwell led the Jaguars with two-over par 74s. Junior Greg Gowen turned in a three-over par 75, while junior Daniel Burns and sophomore Marc Bussieres each carded 79.
USA returns to the golf course for the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 21st- 23rd.
